Off-Season Workouts

Work this winter season on your Technique.
Start now with a class at your local YMCA. Many classes are offered at many different times. For example, work on
improving your endurance and speed with a Spinning (cycling) class. Work on your Swimming stroke at any one of a
number of Masters swim classes or participate in the NEW Triathlon class that is offered twice a week. A class specifically designed
with triathlon racing in mind. Call your coach for details or ask the YMCA at 233-3531.
Off-Season is a great time to work on your Nutrition and Strength. Join a local gym. Focus on core exercises,
stretching and weights to improve your overall fitness and also give your joints a little break from all the constant
pounding from this past racing season. Decrease running mileage and change routine. For fresh ideas and motivational
tips consult with your coach. Remember to have FUN :)
